Our Commitment to becoming a net zero company

We are a company of brands and people with a big purpose; to make sustainability within the built environment commonplace. We want to push our business and the way we do business further than ever before. As a leading built environment consultancy, we are a proud signatory of the World Green Building Council’s Net-Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment.

The commitment calls on businesses, organizations, cities, and subnational governments to reach net-zero operating emissions in their portfolios by 2030, and to advocate for all buildings to be net-zero carbon in operation by 2050.

We want to create long-term added value for society and through our business and behavior in transitioning to a decarbonized built environment, we are committing to the following four goals:

  1. Helping all of our group companies operate new and existing buildings, within direct control, at net zero whole life carbon by 2030.
  2. Promoting a low embodied carbon approach and net-zero carbon pathways in the work we deliver to clients.
  3. Advancing internal ESG efforts through the Dar Group Sustainability Council.
  4. Collaborating with industry partners to advance thought leadership on sustainable infrastructure and policy activation.
At Dar Group we will embed sustainability across our group within everything we do and apply our wealth of expertise, knowledge and skills to deliver competitive and effective solutions for our clients, our people and our business to ensure we create lasting societal change.
Beyond Buildings

Partnerships

We believe that an integrated approach to the whole built environment is essential to deliver change commensurate with the commitments of the Paris Agreement. In support of this, we are partnering with the World Green Building Council on research and advocacy that supports a holistic view of sustainable buildings and infrastructure.

Our first collaboration, ‘Beyond Buildings: Why an integrated approach to buildings and infrastructure is essential for climate action and sustainability’: calls for systemic and integrated infrastructure solutions to improve sustainability outcomes.
